My practice uses Vioscreen, a powerful clinical tool that offers comprehensive, web-based nutrition assessment collecting detailed dietary data analyzing your nutritional habits giving a clear picture of your diet quality.

How do you factor in personal preferences and cultural considerations?

I will work with you to understand your likes and dislikes, food allergies and intolerances, cultural background and traditional foods. I understand that food is not just nutrition but also about cultural identity and connections. This helps in creating a meal plan that you’re more likely to stick to. I recognize the emotional and social aspects of eating, and I will help you find a balance that supports your health goals without causing stress or guilt. By considering all these factors, I create a personalized and culturally sensitive plan that makes managing diabetes and losing weight more enjoyable and effective.

Will you be able to teach me how to cook?

I offer practical cooking tips and guidance as part of my program. While they may not be full cooking classes, I will certainly teach you how to prepare healthier meals, modify your favorites recipes to fit your dietary needs, balance meals and snacks that fit your dietary goals, and introduce you to new cooking techniques that preserve nutrients and enhance flavors without adding unnecessary ingredients.

Do you provide any educational resources or materials to help?

Absolutely! These materials include customized meal plans tailored to your dietary needs and preferences, nutritional guides that will help you understand food labels, portion sizes, and nutrient content, educational handouts covering various topics such as what to look for when grocery shopping to help you choose healthier options,  tips on organizing your kitchen to make healthier cooking more convenient and enjoyable, and lifestyle modification guidance on physical activity, stress management, and other factors that impact diabetes and weight.

How often do we meet?

Depending on the program level we will meet twice per month or weekly with access to private chat support.

Will I have access to you only during follow-ups or can I contact you in between follow-ups?

Depending on the program level you can have limited or unlimited private chat check ins in my app

What is the time frame to start seeing change in my blood sugar levels and weight?

The time frame can vary depending on several factors, including your current health status, lifestyle changes, and any medications you might be taking. For blood sugar levels, you can start to see improvements within twelve weeks after making dietary changes and increasing physical activity.

For weight loss, it’s common to notice changes within four to eight weeks of adopting a healthier diet and regular physical activity. Everyone’s body responds differently, so it’s essential to set realistic goals and monitor your progress. Sustainable weight loss typically occurs gradually over time, and it’s important to focus on long-term healthier habits rather than quick fixes.
